Angela M. La Porte was born in Connellsville, Pennsylvania. She received a B.S. degree from La Roche College in design, an M.A. from Arizona State University in art education, and a Ph.D. from The Pennsylvania State University in art education. As an associate professor of art education at the University of Arkansas, her research interests include social, multicultural, and inter generational issues in art education as she currently chairs the National Art Education Association (NAEA) Committee on Lifelong Learning in Art Education. Angela is also writing papers based on the results from a national survey involving factors that might influence art curriculum content. She recently edited and contributed writings to the NAEA book publication, Community Connections: Inter generational Links in Art Education.
