marilyn nelson

Born in Seattle, Washington, Marilyn Nelson received her BFA in printmaking (1975) and her MFA in painting (1988), both from the University of Colorado in Boulder. From 1979-1987 she was Art Director / Designer at Celestial Seasonings, Inc., an herb tea company in Boulder, Colorado. On the faculty at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville since 1993, and she is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Art where she teaches in the Visual Design area. Previously, she taught at Eastern New Mexico University, University of Oregon and the University of Colorado. She exhibits her work nationally and internationally.
