Bethany earned her BA in studio art at Virginia Polytechnic Institute Virginia (with a minor in Dance) and her MFA in sculpture at the University of Georgia. Her work encompasses a wide range of sculptural media, both traditional and contemporary, and shows a meticulous level of craftsmanship. Bethany already as established has an impressive exhibition record, including some six solo exhibitions to date. She has created installations that cut across many boundaries to incorporate dance, video, lasers, and even robotics. Bethany brings to the position an wide array of skills -- both artistic and otherwise -- including a photographic memory.
Bethany will be teaching 3D design and a variety of courses within sculpture. She will be working to expand the sculpture curriculum in a number of ways. With Bethany's arrival, our sculpture curriculum can be expected to incorporate many new topics and techniques, including metals, mixed media, interactive media, and 3D modeling.
