computer labs

In the visual design area we have three Apple Mac (OS 10.5 "Leopard") computer labs with the latest software and hardware. These labs are intended for use by Art Department students enrolled in Visual Design and digital photography courses.

Digital Media Lab (DML)
new computer labThe DML, FNAR 322-323, has 15 Mac Pro computers with the Adobe Master collection CS3/CS4 (everything Adobe makes, e.g. Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere, Flash, Dreamweaver, etc.), among other software titles (Carrara 6 Pro). The lab includes ceiling-mounted projection and wide-screen flat-panel displays with built-in speakers and a critique board and space, with work tables along the edges.

Graphic Design Lab
FNAR 303 is presently a 15-seat Intel iMac computer lab with the Adobe Creative Suite CS3/CS4 Design Premium (Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, InDesign, Acrobat 9 Pro). This lab also includes a ceiling-mounted projector, critique boards on two walls and a conference/discussion area.

Input/Output (IO) Lab
In FNAR 304 we have the Input/Output Lab, which contains high-end MacPro computers with the major Adobe programs attached to scanners and printers.

Other campus computer labs

In addition to the Art computer lab, just across the parking lot is the Multimedia Resource Center (MMRC), with a good amount of hardware and software of both platforms, and in the Arkansas Union is the 24-hour General Access Computing Lab, which also has design software on some of the machines.
