Art Education
The Art Education program offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with K-12 Arkansas state teacher certification and is accredited by the Arkansas Department of Education and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.
Art History
The discipline of Art History focuses on the study of visual objects. In art history classes, the activity is not the creation of art works (as in studio art courses), but rather the analysis of the art forms that have been created from prehistory to the present and produced in a variety of cultures.
Graphic Design
In fall 2016, the School of Art introduced the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design offering students an enchanced focus on human-centered and interaction design, typography, branding and design research. The area provides coursework in print, web and motion design, with a focus on the traditional design process as well as the latest software techniques.
Foundations
During their Foundations year, students build strong connections with their peers, develop effective work habits, and learn to ask complex questions—in addition to being exposed to the full range of formal art and design principles.
Studio Art
The students that major in the Ceramics program learn a variety of techniques and processes in the medium. They also learn historical and contemporary ideas in ceramics and art in both the undergraduate and graduate level.
